YIN Weekend Workshop with Jennifer Crescenzo / 6-8 OCT 2017

6th October  //  Friday Night: Yin Yang (2 hours)
6.30pm - 8.30pm
Move dynamically through Yin Yang sequences that will have you shape-shifting from the crouching tiger to the coiling serpent. Express the solid, muscular energy of earth and the fluid flow of water through movement and breath. All levels welcome.
7th October  //  Saturday Part One: Yin Fundamentals (2 hours)
11am - 1pm
Learn the fundamentals of Yin Yoga.  What is the Yin method?  What kinds of changes can you expect from a Yin practice? And when it comes to flexibility, how much do you really need?
We’ll explore the relationship between Yin Yoga and meditation and discuss how moving curiously and consciously can change the way you think and feel - and maybe even the very structure of your brain!
This workshop will involve a little more lecture and discussion with some posture play to feel how the concepts we discuss can be experienced in your own body.
7th October  //  Saturday Part Two: Yin Posture Lab (2.5 hours)
2.00pm - 4.30pm
Have you ever been in class listening to your teacher describe how this pose is a blissful hip opener while all you feel is painful pressure in your knee?   Or maybe you’ve been practicing yoga for years but you just don’t seem to be able to move in certain ways?  Come to this workshop and experience yoga postures from a fresh perspective.
Like scientists in the lab, we will investigate lunges, forward folds, backbends, and twists.
And we’ll ask important questions like, “Am I feeling stretch or compression?” “How do I know if a sensation is helpful or harmful? and “What limits me in this movement and can I work around it?” Step into the Posture Lab and learn creative ways to adapt and vary postures for you or your students.
8th October // Sunday: Yin and the Chakras (2.5 hours)
11am - 1.30pm

A yoga practice uses movement and breath to change the way energy flows through you.
Meditation helps you feel those changes and increases your power to direct that energy.

This workshop will combine Yin Yoga and Chakra meditation so that you can experience the more subtle dimensions of a Yin Yoga practice and explore the relationship between movement, breath, and Prana.

Explore the power of vibration through the Bija Mantras and use these “seed sounds” to stimulate the flow of energy along your spine.

$55 per session / $180 for ALL session
